College Algebra
About this course
The course is intended for students of non-STEM majors requiring college algebra. The course covers theory of functions, different types of functions including linear, quadratic, polynomial, rational, exponential, and logarithmic functions, as well as analyzing the graphs of functions such as intercepts, transformations, vertices, and asymptotes. Students will learn how to solve linear and non-linear inequalities, and exponential and logarithmic equations. Topics of sets of numbers including complex numbers will also be discussed. (2 credits)
About the Instructor(s)
Dr. Wendy Tu will be teaching College Algebra courses at Mishkah University. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Applied Math, a master’s degree in Math, and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Computing Technology in Education. She has been a college instructor for many years teaching various mathematics courses including Statistics, College Algebra, Trigonometry, Calculus for Social Sciences, and Calculus. Dr Tu is also currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Islamic Studies at Mishkah University. Her research interests include Islamic jurisprudence, statistics education, and instructional design in online learning.
