Fiqh of Hadith I – ISHSC
About the course (Fall 2025)
This is an entry-level course, part one of two courses that examines the Fiqh of Hadith pertaining to the essential topics, which include creed, law, morality, and spirituality. It goes through Imam al-Nawawi’s 40 Hadith compilation. The first twenty-one hadiths are examined and discussed. (3 credit hours)
About the Instructor(s)
Sr Maryam Mehrzad is a Mishkah University Graduate who has vast experience in the field of education. In addition to her Bachelors in Islamic Studies, she holds a BS in Information Technology, and a BA in Elementary Education and Special Education from Western Governors University. She is a licensed educator in the State of Texas and has received distinguished TESOL certifications for teaching English as a second language. She has served as an ESL teacher for adults, as an elementary school teacher, and as a teaching assistant for many Mishkah courses. As an educator, she is dedicated to creating a student-centered, learning environment that fosters leadership, social cohesion, creativity, and responsibility to help students experience effective learning that has lasting value beyond their life at school.
