We’ve Graduated Our First High School Dual Enrollment Class
May 20th was a historic day for Mishkah University through the mercy and blessings of Allah. The first batch of students from our High School Dual Enrollment Program graduated with their diploma, as well as their Associates Degree from Mishkah University.
Nineteen students from Al-Amal School marked this achievement with Dr Hatem al-Haj and Dr Souheil Zekri, who were there to confer the Associates Degrees.
“You are done, yet we expect you to work as hard and even harder,” Dr Hatem said to the graduates. “We expect hard work and ethical conduct to be your hallmark in life . . .You owe it to your family. You owe it to your country. You owe it to your deen.”
He reminded the students that with so many young Muslims facing an identity crisis, they should rejoice in the “garden of faith and certainty,” find comfort in Islam and be the best ambassadors of the religion. He urged them to be representative of the word “Al-Amal.”
Four years ago, Al-Amal School was the first school in the country to partner with Mishkah, giving students the opportunity to work towards an Associates Degree while still in high school, and get a strong foundation in Islamic Studies. “We want the seeds that were sown in this school to continue to grow and continue to blossom,” Dr. Hatem said.
We are immensely grateful for the pioneering role that Al-Amal played in launching this first-of-its-kind-program and we are happy to announce that 6 new schools are expected to sign up for the program during the 2017-2018 academic year inshaAllah.
