Fiqh of Hadith I – ISHSC

About the course (Spring 2024)

This is an entry-level course, part one of two courses that examines the Fiqh of Hadith pertaining to the essential topics, which include creed, law, morality, and spirituality. It goes through Imam al-Nawawi’s 40 Hadith compilation. The first twenty-one hadiths are examined and discussed. (3 credit hours)

About the Instructor(s)

Sh. Tariq Appleby is a Fiqh of Hadith instructor for Mishkah University’s high school certificate program (ISHSC). He graduated with a BA in Hadith and Islamic Studies, and a diploma in Arabic Studies from the Islamic University of Madinah. With more than 16 years of teaching experience at diverse institutions, he has engaged with students of all ages in over 10 countries, using everything from a chalkboard in rural India to an interactive whiteboard in Australia. He has also taught numerous classes online and provided private tutoring to both children and adults. In addition, Sh. Tariq has extensive experience as an international public speaker, as well as in marriage, drug and youth counseling.
